Guitar Hero: World Tour

Posted by: bam on: February 27, 2009

Of all the “band” oriented games, this one has the WORST set list. The only saving grace of this getup is the TooL set list which even then is questionable. I’ll also admit that after playing the RB and GH franchise based games, I much prefer the key style animations to RB over [...]

Rock Band 2

While some people say the set list isn’t all that great, I tend to enjoy it.  For a mere $5 you can also transfer your RB1 songs over, and you can use them on your tours.  The downloadable content leaves something to be desired, but it’s still early in the game.  I look forward to [...]

Things that make you go “hmm”

Posted by: bam on: March 13, 2008

Finally, at redoctane.com you can get the Les Paul wireless controller for guitar hero 3.  This is great!  Except it isn’t offered for the 360 [yet].  What?!  Why? WHY?
You can now purchase the drums separately for Rock Band.  They only cost *drum roll* $80.  Seriously.  $80 for the drums and $60 for the game.  Are [...]

Rock Band

Rock Band has a lot of elements and really is a terrific group game. Singing actually requires a bit of talent as you have to be on pitch, but you can usually fumble your way through words by either humming or slurring. It’s definitely worth the initial investment of $160. I hear [...]

Guitar Hero(s) II and III

Fun.  Addictive. Hand cramps.  My current guilty pleasure.
In Legends of Rock you see a lot more improvements from the second game.  You also see a slightly higher level of difficulty.  If you own both games I suggest working your way through the medium level on GH2 and then progressing to GH3’s medium rating.    Also, once [...]

Wii VS Xbox 360 (with a smattering of DS)

Posted by: bam on: December 8, 2007

I like to consider myself a dedicated Nintendo fan. Unfortunately Nintendo’s really dropped the ball with their releases.  This past year has seen 1 good Wii release – Super Mario Galaxy.  While some of their other releases have been okay they haven’t really been “good”.  Case and point Wario Ware Smooth Moves.
I have to say [...]

Viva Pinata

Posted by: bam on: December 8, 2007

What a gruesome game. You attract animals, they fight, explode (hooray!), candy pops out, and then the other animals gets their rocks off by eating the candy. Damn it’s fun. The object of the game is to build your garden and attract various “pinatas” which are really just common animals with silly [...]

BioShock

A game that really makes the 360 worth owning. I felt really bad because we spent all that money and weren’t really getting a lot of use out of the damn thing.
The atmosphere is fantastic, the game play is smooth, and the nightmares make it completely worth it.
